Just Between Friends Shopping Round 3

Holy smokes did this summer fly by? We were constantly on the go and I felt like I never got a moment to catch my breath. Now that we are into the second week of school over here I’m feeling a little better. We are getting into a routine and I can finally get caught up. On life.

Because the summer was so hectic I really didn’t do much Fall clothing shopping. The first weeks of schools the babes wear their summer clothes anyways so not a big deal. Lucky for me I was invited to shop the Fall Just Between Friends sale again! I love that I can grab a TON of clothes that are in great used condition and not break the bank doing so.

** I was provided compensation to shop and share my experiences. All opinions are my own!

For those that don’t know Just Between Friends is a consignment style mom to mom sale. Items are organized by size and priced 50-90% below retail. I love that there are no crazy lines and no sorting to find the size you are looking for.

Here are some of the clothing items that caught my eye! Tons of name brands at reasonable prices! That dress on the bottom right is one that Giada wore for Thanksgiving a few years back. It brought back so many memories!

I mean look at all these shoes!!  I just love shoe shopping!

As a new dance mom I couldn’t resist checking out the like new tap shoes!

and tons of tennis shoes in great condition!

Along with clothing there are other baby/kids items at reasonable prices.

There were also a ton of toys/games in NEW or like new condition.

This is my third time shopping at  Just Between Friends sale and I am hooked!

You can read about my visit last Fall here

and my recent Spring visit here

OK. On to the best part. Here is what I came home with!

*all of this was $60

Here is the girl stuff I picked up ranging in sizes from 3t to 4t. At prices this good I like to shop current sizes and the next size up.

Clockwise from the top left; Gap jean jacket, Gap Chambray dress, Cherokee skinny jeans, Old Navy sweater vest, Old Navy bird shirt.

I picked up a few staple items for Ari too! I about died when I saw this wool Gap coat in his exact size. I mean Gap jackets NEVER go on sale, coupons don’t apply, and are usually pushing $100. When I saw this for around $10 I snatched it up!

Clockwise from upper left; Gap wool coat, under armor lightweight jacket, Gymboree thick knit shirt.

I mean, I think homeboy likes it!

Now that I have a brand new Kindergartener I also grabbed a few Level 1 readers at a great price!

…and a drumroll for my favorite item of the night.

This poodle costume! Cue all the heart eyes because this was made for Giada. She immediately had to try it on.

SO many great bargains to be had!

If you are in the area you should definitely check the sale out!

Just Between Friends Shopping Take 2

In the Fall I had the pleasure of shopping at the Just Between Friends Detroit/Madison Heights sale and had such a great time! You can read all about my trip here. When they contacted me to shop again at their Spring sale I jumped at the chance!

Best part? I was able to be in and out in just about 30 minutes! I can’t say that for a normal mom to mom sale! Usually I spend so much time hunting for the tables that have my size I really waste a lot of time!

Not only are there racks of name brand clothes, but there are also toys, gently used books, strollers, maternity clothes, and other baby items!

The rock & play sleeper was a must have when the babes were small and there were 3 there tonight at a STEAL of a price!

I also found some great deals on strollers!

Oh, and there was a HUGE selection of shoes! I couldn’t believe how great of shape they were all in!

I mean how cute are these flannel Toms?!

Now, onto my FINDS! I tried to get stuff for both the babes and ended up with a pretty even split! I spent a grand total of $53!
First let me start by saying that as the babes get older I find it harder and harder to buy second hand clothes. Bigger kids are harder on their clothes and they just aren’t as nice as the little sizes. Tonight I found some LIKE NEW stuff!
For Ari:
{Tucker & Tate plaid shirt, Carters Camo shirt, Cherokee lightweight hoodie, 2 pairs of Carters pants in amazing condition, a Gap Star Wars tee, and Keen sandals}

For Giada:

{4 Cherokee brand dresses, a Gymboree dress, a pair of Keen sandals, an Old Navy denim flutter top, and two pairs of fun summer shorts}

I think this one is my favorite with the tulle peeking out the bottom. It’s going to look adorable on her in the summer!

I bought this one in a size 4 and I think it will be perfect for Fall. It has little foxes on it!

There you have it. 15 pieces of clothing + 2 pairs of shoes for $53. …. and it only took my 30 minutes to find it all! I call that a mom win!

If you are in the area you should go check it out!

OK… On to the good stuff. What did I buy!?!?

I spent $50 on the dot and I got the babes some pretty awesome Fall clothing! I wanted stuff that would work for layering and I was so excited to find all this!

This denim shirt for Giada was $2 and the possibilities for it are endless! I envision her wearing some cute boots and a big headband, of course!

This chambray shirt and maroon H&M corduroy skirt will look awesome with some mustard tights she already has!

This was my most expensive combo but all the pieces can be used separately or all together! The coral jean jacket was from Crew Cuts!!

Last outfit is that denim shirt again with a bubble skirt/legging combo. G just loves skirts and I know she will want to add a fun necklace with this outfit!

I got Ari some pretty awesome Fall stuff too!

Clockwise from top left: (Zara sweater, True Religion button down, Gap button down, lightweight Northface, and Zara pants).

While I was there I was immediately drawn to the HUGE selection of shoes….unfortunately they weren’t the right sizes for my babes, but take a look at how awesome these are (and all were marked $5 and under)!

I also found a TON of Under Armor for bigger boys!

… an amazing deal on a Britax B-Agile!

And tons of Halloween costumes!

If you are in the area you really should go check it out!

Shop Spotlight: Birdy Boutique!

Nothing makes me happier than sharing a local shop that my very own babe got to model for!!

untitled (2 of 10)

What do you do when you love something?

untitled (5 of 10)

You share it!

Birdy Boutique was started by two Polish sisters who LOVE birds! The freedom, peacefulness and beauty that they enjoy from birding has allowed them great appreciation for peace and nature.  Their four children have shown them how precious and joyful life can be. These moms are committed to spreading their love for nature because they believe that children need this exposure to appreciate it as they are our future.

Who are these sisters? Barbra, mom to two extremely lively children, is wife to an Army officer. She herself is a retired army officer and currently resides in Alaska. Joanna is a proud married mama of two little ones under the age of two and a loving Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She lives in a little walking community in Michigan where she loves birding, photography, exploring, teaching and scoring good deals. Her true passion is teaching and she loves traveling with her family.

These girls are a perfect match! Barbara is extremely talented in the craft room and sews all of their baby items and Joanna used her talents to expose them to the online world.

Their online boutique features many fun and adorable items with birds on them.  What’s even cooler is that each one of our products has a “birdy” fact!!

Things found there include adorable earrings, comfortable baby attire, and colorful hair accessories. Mom can shop for baby and for herself too!

So now they open their boutique doors to you, where mama can shop for herself and baby too!

H&M {The Best Place for Toddler Clothes}

Do you shop at H&M?

I dress my kids like mini adults. But, it’s incredibly hard to find the styles that I like at the price I like.  So many stores price toddler clothes WAY out of my budget.  Luckily I came across H&M. Most of the time I can find the styles that I like for less money than heading to Carters or Target.  No joke.  Check out these prices on cardigans & dresses!

 IMG_20141002_142623 IMG_20141002_142652

This is a dress I recently got for my little lady; $5.95!

The little man stuff is my absolute favorite!

IMG_20141002_112525Cardigans for $9.95!?

I think my son likes their clothes as well!

Best kept secret about shopping at H&M?  Most locations accept clothing donations and for each bag you donate will give you a coupon worth 15% off your entire order!  Add that to their already low prices and OMG what steals!!!  My most recent coupon was good until August 2015! What are you waiting for?  Head to H&M!

Instagram Shopping… How to!

I’ve been sharing some of my favorite instagram finds on facebook lately and have gotten a lot of questions regarding instagram shopping. I thought a whole post dedicated to instagram shopping would be very helpful! I started shopping on instagram last summer on maternity leave when I was restricted from driving.   I was soon addicted to shopping from other moms from my cell phone and felt like I had joined a secret underground community.   I LOVE instagram shopping because I am helping other moms out while finding some really cool stuff for my kids.  At first I tried searching pinterest and google for “instagram shopping” and couldn’t find anything describing how it all went down.  I learned as I went and wish someone laid it all out for me.  Well, that is why I am sharing with all of my readers!!

OK, here is how instagram shopping works:

-Sellers create instagram accounts devoted to buying and selling on instagram. There are a wide variety of sellers. Some moms are looking to just sell their kid’s old clothes, some are bargain shoppers and buy items brand new and then resell on instagram, and some moms are trying to build a small business by selling handmade items like headbands or hair clips.

-These “shops” post the items for sale with a price (some are open to offers, others are firm on their pricing). Don’t forget that whoever is on the selling end has to pay a small fee to paypal as well as shipping for the item (usually around $2). So when someone is selling a shirt for $6 shipped then that seller is really only profiting $3.50. Keep that in mind when you are making offers lower than the listed price.

-Shop rules. Most serious instagram sellers will have their rules posted in their info section. This includes whether shipping is included in the price or if it is extra. Shops also have requirements as far as turn around time for paying invoices. It usually is 12 hours. Once an invoice is sent to you, you have 12 hours to get is paid or the item will be considered back up for sale.  Make sure you read each indidual shop’s rules prior to purchasing.

-Claiming an item. As you are scrolling through and see an item you have to have at a price that you think is reasonable, you can comment on the item with you pay pal email address. (You must have a paypal account. All transactions are made through paypal. If there is ever any problem with the items you purchased not arriving or not being in the condition stated, then you as the buyer are protected by pay pal.) Usually that seller will acknowledge you claimed and tag you back by saying the invoice is sent. If your paypal account is current then your shipping address is verified through paypal and the seller knows where to ship your item.  **Note if your instagram account is private then you will not get notifications from sellers unless they follow you.

-Getting your item. Once you have paid your invoice, then the seller will mail your item to you. Again it’s important to read shop rules because some sellers ship daily while others have certain ship days throughout the week.

-NOW WHERE TO START?!?!? For me it was extremely helpful to start following a few shops from my personal account and watch as items were posted. Some of the items that caught my eye, I would go through that sellers old pcitures to see how other shoppers had claimed, asked questions, or even asked for discounts when they bought multiples. I tried to learn as much as I could before I started claiming items. If you would like a place to start go follow me on instagram @bestdressedbabes and look through the list of people that I follow. Start following some of them as a way to get started. You will notice some of the larger shops (ones with a lot of followers) will also tag other shops as a way to promote them. It doesn’t hurt to follow!

Learning the lingo….
