Best Dressed Easter {A Spool Full of Sugar}

Let’s just take a minute and cue all the heart eyes….

…because this dress is that good!

I had my heart set on finding Giada a handmade Easter dress this year and A Spool Full of Sugar knocked it out of the park. A few weeks ago I found her handmade shop on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her style. When we got ahold of her “Ella” dress it was love at first sight and I knew I needed more of where that came from.

When I first contacted A Spool Full of Sugar about an Easter dress she already had the 3 fabrics she planned on using. We kind of went back and forth about the style that she was going to create and we both agreed that a flutter dress would be perfect for Easter!

We also both agreed that big pockets (to put eggs in of course) were an absolute must! After that I let A Spool Full of Sugar do the rest. When this dress (and matching bow tie) arrived in my mailbox I was speechless! The dress was absolute perfection.

Every last detail was perfectly crafted even down to the 3 colorful buttons on the back. Everything about it screamed Easter!

Of course a handmade dress isn’t complete without a coordinating headband and  Darling Delilah never ceases to amaze me! This headband is the perfect compliment and Giada loves it!

…and in case any of you were wondering, Giada’s shoes are Mini Melissa and I recently found them for a great price at Saks Off Fifth! Not only do they smell amazing, but Giada just loves that they are bunnies! Looks like they no longer have them in pink, but you can grab the purple here.

There you have it, the perfect little Easter ensemble! Hopefully our Michigan weather will cooperate!

Making Memories; Easter Edition

I had 3 glorious days off work this weekend and we took advantage of every second!  I’m linking up with Momfessionals, Grace and Love, and A Little Bit of Everything to share my Friday favorites.  Any time I’m off work on Friday is a favorite for me so I’m sharing everything we did over the weekend!

On Friday the babes and I were out the door by 9 am and off to 2 different playdates.

The kids striped down to color some eggs and we thought it would be so cute for the shirtless little men to pick Giada up. She was fussing, but they obliged.  The second they got her in the air, though, they realized she had poop in her pants! The look on the boy’s face in the middle is priceless. I still cannot stop laughing over this! This will certainly be a picture to show her when she’s older!

After laughing over that photo of course wine we had to pour up some wine for the mamas.

Later that night we visited the Cranbrook Institute of Science with some friends.  The first Friday of every month is free admission from 5-close! The babes loved the museum–almost everything was hands-on! They even had a bat cave with live bats! One was the size of a cat! OMG!

Saturday morning we attended another chilly Easter Egg hunt.  It was barely 32 degrees out and the wind made it feel even cooler. Needless to say we didn’t last long!

Saturday night hubs and I got away for a few hours to watch the Michigan State Spartans play in the final four. Even though they lost it was nice to get out for a little!

Easter morning was great to watch Ari & Giada hunt for their baskets! They loved searching the house and were so excited for all their goodies.  Giada is all set for summer weather and just had to try everything on. I think her favorite item was her new necklace from AK’s Hidden Gems!

Speaking of AK’s Hidden Gems I have a Giveaway going over on Facebook!  One lucky follower will win this Springtime necklace/bracelet set! Go follow me if you don’t already!

I made these mini cheesecakes for Easter Sunday. They were SO yummy and super easy to make! I love making single portion desserts and snacks! So easy to serve to little ones!

We visited family on Sunday and these two babes were spoiled.

I always carry a spare cardigan of Giada’s. She wears it backwards to protect her clothes!

What a difference a year makes.  Our little family one year apart.

Left is Easter 2014. Right is Easter 2015.

Whew. I think that’s it! What great memories we made!

All things Easter!

How is Easter just a few weeks away?

Our next few weeks are JAM packed with all things Easter. Easter egg hunts, Easter bunny visits, and a full day of activities planned for Good Friday. I got the babes’ baskets ALL ready to go so I wasn’t scrambling to finish them amidst all the chaos surrounding the holiday.

First up photos! My hubs usually takes our photos like this one from last year!

But, he’s been traveling a lot for work and just didn’t have the time this year. I used Luna Signature and couldn’t be happier. Our session was 20 minutes in and out, very affordable, and I got some pretty amazing shots of the babes.

Baskets! Last year I splurged and bought the LARGE Pottery Barn baskets and liners. When I thought about how many Easters I’d be filling them up, I was able to easily justify the cost. Right now they are 20% off with free shipping! You should definitely order them if you don’t have them! They are pretty amazing and can be filled with LOTS of goodies. I tried to avoid filling them with candy and instead with items they were going to need at some point this Spring.

Giada’s Basket:

Headband (Bow Kay), Mirror craft (Dollar Spot at Target), Pink Peeps, Sunglasses (H&M), Headband (Wisely Crafted Originals), Bathing Suits (Target), Sandals (Buy Buy Baby -Use a coupon!), Necklace & Bracelet Set (AK’s Hidden Gems)

Ari’s Basket:

Blue Peeps, Spring button down shirts (Target), Sunglasses (Crazy 8 & Old Navy), America Tank (Kohls), Bathing Suit (Old Navy), Flash Cards (Target Dollar Spot), Sandals (Target)

Next up let’s talk about these Vintage Eggs made by Nancy from Wisely Crafted Originals.

How gorgeous are they? All of her work is always so unique and these did not disappoint me. These eggs are sophisticated and not just for little girls. Moms can wear them in their hair, as a brooch, or even on a bag.

Check out these Chick Pretzels! So easy to make and I promise everyone will love them!

I hope the weather cooperates because we have lots to do these next couple of weeks!
